DETAILS:

New forms of media are being created today that are innovative and fresh.  We’re going to be asking some key questions about media’s role in the 21st century:

* What are you doing to keep media fresh?

* What is the future of media?

* How can we collaborate to create a more open, democratic and participatory media system?

* What do we want media to look like in the future?

Fresh Media will have TWO COMPONENTS:

  • An interactive exhibition showcasing the works of media innovators and artists that will engage the public through live art and media arts installations, on-the-spot media and art creating, displays of recent or current works, interactive and educational booths pertaining to media and media arts, film screenings, music, information booths etc.;

  • Engaging workshops, panels, roundtable discussions etc.

Fresh Media Crew

The current media system in Canada is going through major transformations with both the fall of traditional journalism and corporate media and the rise of new social media tools and citizen-based journalism.

Now is the time to re-imagine and re-invent what we want Canada’s media to look like.

As a collective, we have the agency to create an innovative and informative media system for the present and the future –- to celebrate what’s good now and to create a new media future together.

Fresh Media events and The Fresh Media Crew are sponsored by http://openmedia.ca
